About me

I grew up in a small town in Indiana and I went to Indiana University for my undergraduate degree, where I completed an honors thesis with Linda Smith and graduated with honors in 2013 with a B.S. in Psychology, a Certificate in Neuroscience. I moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to pursue my PhD at Tulane University with Jeff Lockman. I received my M.S. in Psychological Science from Tulane in 2016 and my Ph.D. in Psychological Science from Tulane in May 2019. I completed my postdoctoral training with Dr. Haylie Miller in 2022, first in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and then in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan.

Currently, I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. I live in Baton Rouge with my two cats, Dash and Kitty, my dog, Daisy, my partner, Caitlin, and our son, Sully. When I’m not working, I like to walk Sully and Daisy around the Garden District in Baton Rouge and try out new drinks and foods at the local breweries and restaurants.
